YOUTH AMBASSADORS' VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE TOUR

10/13/2017

Message from Dr. Patricia Lynch:
Viriginia State University College of Agriculture
Mr. Randolph Keaton:

"As always, it has been a pleasure working with you and your organization in offering young people an opportunity to visit the universities of their choice. As you are aware, I recently joined the Virginia State University family. VSU is also a land-grant university offering 31 undergraduate degree programs, 17 graduate degree programs, 2 doctoral degree programs, and 7 certificate programs. I enjoyed your visits to North Carolina A&T while I was there, and am pleased that you are bringing your students to Virginia State. I hope the students will find it interesting enough to come back for one of our academic programs.

I have discussed your visit with my Chair, Dr. Alice Joyner. The department has several areas of concentration including Dietetics, Fashion Merchandizing, Family and Community, and Family and Consumer Science Education. I have planned several events while you are visiting our campus. Just let me know which ones are no-misses. At the end of the tour, we will have goodie bags with educational information regarding the University, Cooperative Extension, Randolph Farm, College of Agriculture and its Academic Departments. You will be arriving during the Homecoming week, so it will be full of energy. Once you are here, you may decide that there are other opportunities for your students.

Thank you again for the opportunity to allow us to share our programs with your students. Please be safe in your travels, and I look forward to seeing you on October 13.

I am proud that I am one of the lucky readers who have passed by this post. This is a post that will open up our minds and enlarge our eyes to the reality of life. The children will have many insights and observations about the reality of our agriculture. They are the future generation who will live on this planet and by that reason they should be ready by the responsibilities. I will be more assured if children will be learning the proper ways to take care of our environment and our home too.
