YABC

Youth Ambassadors for a Better Community

THE PROGRAM

Founded in  2015, Youth Ambassadors for a Better Community (YABC) is a mission based youth leadership group. We started out on a mission to increase the quantity, quality, and sustainability of community gardens across the tri-county area, while instilling leadership, entrepreneurship, and social skills into our youth.

This program has grown tremendously and as a result we began serving our regional community in 2018 through expanded policy involvement and a new partnership with North Carolina State Universities Vacation Vittles Program.

WHAT WE DO

  • Increase access to locally grown food
  • Build leadership and entrepreneurial skills among youth
  • Support local farmers by creating new markets
  • Policy & Advocacy

  • Organize local workshops, garden tours, field trips and seminars
  • Advertise, market, and sell locally grown produce
